About this page

Rapid chess, semilampo in Italian, is the format of many weekend events in the Milan area. The Scacchistica Milanese plays one every Saturday afternoon in its room in Via San Faustino; Lainate holds a series of Friday rapids with entries taken through the Vesus platform; La Mongolfiera hosts its Rapid@Mente events at Villa Volontieri in Vimercate, fifteen minutes a game over seven rounds.

Scacchi a Colori Milano organises the rapid “Al Castello Visconteo” in Binasco, eight rounds at twelve minutes plus three seconds, with a federation card required to play, and Cavalli & Segugi in Robecchetto con Induno holds youth rapid tournaments at Palazzo Fagnani Arese. Several of them take entries in advance, on Vesus or through the club, so a look at the organiser’s page before setting out is worthwhile.
